Theophilus London #2

I thought I would share one more tune of the man and give you some info whilst you listen to it.

Theophilus London is not a nickname, but his actual name as given to him by his parents.

They named him after his great grandfather, you can imagine that having a name like Theophilus is no fun to grow up with. The kids teased him a lot. It was not until he was older that he began to appreciate the name, mainly because it is so unique.

He was raised in New York where he moved back and forth between Brooklyn, Harlem and Queens. Growing up in Harlem you would expect him to be into Hip Hop, but that is a wrong assumption. His mother listened to Kiss fm all day long where he spent his days listening to Garth Brooks, Motown classics and Luther Vandross. These artist really shaped him till the age of 10.

Then he moved back to Brooklyn where he couldn't help but fall in love with Hip Hop as it was everywhere he went. He started really listening to beats and began rap batlling.

The first day of High School as a freshman he asked who the best rapper of the school was and then totally destroyed this dude in front of the whole school.

The Kiss fm mixed with the Hip Hop influences is really what best describes the sound of Theophilus London today. In my opinion this man is ahead of his time.
