Music please! "Made in Queens film"
Last summer in a rented garage on the outskirts of Queens, NY something incredible was happening. A group of imaginative tinkerers from Trinidad were working late into the nights creating something nobody had ever seen before: enormous stereo systems jury rigged onto ordinary bmx bikes. Traveling together, each behind the handlebars of his or her own massive homemade creation, they treat the neighborhood to an outrageous impromptu music and dance party on wheels.
Directed by Randall Stevens, Made In Queens is a film celebrating America's first stereobike crew.

Another collaboration "Raf Simons x Eastpak"
Since we're on the subject of collaborations, here is yet another nice one. What is the reason that we like collaborations so much?
Is it because 9 times out of 10 they're very limited and become collectable? Or is it because the vision of two different designers/ brands makes one hell of a good product. Take a look at the Raf Simons x Eastpak bags and you tell me what makes it cool...
oh yes, you can buy them at my favourite online shop Oki-ni (remember?)
F!@£$ traffic jams "Fred Perry x Vespa"
Seems nowadays it's all about who you collaborate with as a brand. I don't mind a good collaboration as long as it makes the product better and it is not only meant for marketing purposes.
In the pictures above another good example. Fred Perry did a collaboration with Raf Simons earlier this year and now they have another with Vespa. The scooter is limited to a 100.

I was blind, but now I see... "Effector part 2"
Maybe you remember my posted article on the limited edition Fuzz-s glasses from Effector? Maybe you also remember me saying that if you want to know where to buy the stuff featured on my blog, that you only need ask?
Ok, so my colleague said that he wanted to get the effector glasses. Turns out that they are only available in Japan. !@£$% this would prove to be a problem. I wanted to be true to my word and get him the glasses.
I searched and waited, searched and waited. And like the saying: Al good things come to those who wait, I found him these limited "Neighborhood x Effector" glasses.
Let's hope he likes them. To be continued...
A painter paints pictures on canvas. But musicians paint their pictures on silence. ~Leopold Stokowski
Touchy subject, because everybody has a very outspoken opinion when it comes to music, but here goes. My taste in music is very eclectic. I love me some hip hop, electro or house, but every once in a while I need to chill and no artist gets me in that relaxed state like John Mayer. Nice guitar music and intelligent lyrics.
Who needs the sea? "Open river surfing"
By now you should know that my girlfriend is half German an therefore I visit Munich (south of Germany) every once in a while. A few summers back I witnessed the following:
Just outside the “Haus der Kunst” museum, sits a canal who's wildly gushing rapids have created the cities underground surfing spot de jour. The rapids supply local surfing buffs with ample waves, keeping their surfing skills sharp throughout the winter. It seems its one man at a time at this surfing hole, so future enthusiasts need to join the queue. Unlike the Aussies, these German surfers need not worry about sharks.

Going uphill will be a problem....
So yesterday I went out for dinner with my Australian friend and on the way there he told me about picking up a new hobby; cycling. Apparently the trend is to get a "fixed gear" bike with no brakes. If your a pussy (or live in Amsterdam), you should at least have one brake.
I did some research on the "fixed gear" bike phenomenon and found out that there are some really cool custom bikes out there and that even one of my favourite brands "Acne" has a customized "fixed gear" bike (pictures above).
Maybe my friend will let me do a lap on his "fixed gear" bike...

SURF + SNOWBOARD + SKATEBOARD = ????
Life as a movie. Basically the movie is about friends enjoying life, but... The funny thing is that this is not your typical action sports movie, because they took the best guys from each discipline, for example Kelly Slater who is a 9x world champion surfer, and put him on a snowboard. I guarantee that you will laugh your ass off when you see all these champions like also Tony Hawk being taken from their element and trying another sport.
Benji Weatherly (pro surfer) did a good job in making an original action sports movie.

Ultimate escape "Zopilote Surfcamp"
Feeling stressed, low energy, depressed? If so, then you need to recharge your battery and escape. This would be my number one option. Ok ok it is a surfcamp, but I think this location will appeal to everyone who enjoys being in the water and hiding from your boss in an exotic location.
Playa Hermosa, Costa Rica.
